To Become The Whole

Two halves;

        Each from opposite end's

Waiting;

        Wanting to be a whole.

Two halves;

        Living long without love

Wounded;

        Each a broken soul.

Two halves;

        Two different sides of a coin

Hoping;

        Our brokeness to mend

Two halves;

        Reaching for the other

Wishing;

        This night would never end.

Two halves;

        Planning a life together

Clinging;

        Holding tight to a dream

Two halves;

        Destined to be a whole

United;

        Now as one, it would seem.

Veru well written, and very elegant delivery!!! I really enjoyed this one, and it closely mirrors the relationship I have with AngelWolf...we were both searching for "more", knowing the Lord was leading us to something, then we found each other, and since that day, we have been made whole by our true love for each other....our journey follows the same path of this wonderful piece of art!!! Excellent poem!!!!

There are several things I like about this poem. One is your use of parallelism and contrast, which not only reinforce the idea of duality, but also of separation. Also, the spacing of the lines--the "visual" aspect--so to speak, mirrors and reinforces the theme of the poem. Nice love poem. Thank you for sharing.
