Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier

A soldier left his wife one day,

To fight a war so far away,

To fight until peace was won,

He thought the war

Would soon be done.

He left his wife,

And said with a smile,

"don't worry I'll be home

In a very short while".

He never knew

It would be his last,

To kiss his wife,

He left so fast.

The war was quick,

He lost it all,

The fighting went on

till the next dawn,

He wanted to stop it all.

By the time the war was won

The fallen soldiers

were finally done,

one hundred thousand

and even more

people were dead

and that was the score.

THe young husband,

that left his love,

was gone to visit

god up above.

His personal body never found,

with flowers blowing,

there came a sound.

A statue to remember them,

all who fought

before the brave young men.

The guns boom,

and the sounds ring out,

The tomb for those

who's families now pout.

We remember them with

a statue of stone.

For all the soldiers still uknown.

All men who fought

and died at last

And those who are now

part of our past.

Through future wars

In many years.

Men and women shed their tears

This statue remembers all of them

The tomb of the unknown soldier
