Casting Down Arguments And Every High Thing That Exalts Itself

Have you ever experienced that sudden lurch when a large vehicle---I am thinking of a train on rails; primarily of a train pulled by a steam locomotive---begins to move?  The lurch, and then a smooth, almost imperceptible, forward motion that then begins to accelerate.

This is a very significant month for me.  But, I have failed to move forward, spiritually, during the months of January in 2020, 2021, and 2022.  I was unable to help myself, but in the fullness of time, and according to His Plan, our Regnant Lord has begun that movement forward, for me.  Certain arguments that I have struggled with have been, simply, cast down---while I was looking away from them.

Today, almost by random browsing (but I do not believe that anything in our Lord's Cosmos is random), I read with both the excitement of discovery and the sorrow of mourning about the life and poetry of Yook Woo Dang, a young Korean poet bullied to suicide because he was gay.  Through reading about him voraciously this afternoon, I learned about another Asian poetry form, one a little more roomy than Haiku/Senryu and Tanka/Kyoka, and with less of a subject restriction:  Sijo, a form I am looking forward to trying.

Amazing, the serendipity that

Amazing, the serendipity that falls upon your path. You're a hundred percent correct: there's nothing random about this lurch forward that is propelling you into exciting new territory. Although tragedy led to your discovery of Yook Woo Dang, upon the ruins you'll build towers, word by radiant word.

I'm going to be busier than usual (and that's going-insane type of busy), so in case I forget, I want to say "Happy January 9th!"

Brightest blessings, essential Poet.
