No matter how Death's handlers might try to spin it,

Death could not remain triumpant with Jesus in it.

And when He rose from it, leaving its wreckage behind,

it laid there moribund, shattered, and undermined.

Death could not hold Him down and there is no grave that could hold the body down of those that pertain to Him either.

Thank you so very much.  Sometimes I wring my hands thinking that these small forms are confining; but then I realize the confines are my own fear and reluctance to put forth the effort.  Maybe at the end of old age, I will be a little more mature . . . I hope.

Thank you very much.  I very much admire how Eastern Christianity sees the rescue aspect of Christ's death, rather than the penal substitution that so many Western style "wrath of God" preachers emphasize.
