Lord, I am a bearer of monstrous pride;
always prepared, and eager, to provide
a sour, contemptuous sneer, or a snide
remark, thinking my fallible opinion
must have expression if not full dominion.
A practiced criticizer and naysayer,
I am---like Judas---a craven betrayer.
From that which is good, I too glibly turn;
and words of good faith, I too harshly spurn.
Long have I played the role dastardly bastard---
a part too easily, too quickly, mastered.
So, for the time that I have left to live
I ask You, Lord, and my friends, to forgive
the sins of which, here, I have made confession
in measured verse and rhyme as its expression.

So beautifully and humbly said you should reek of pride after this one. Brilliant! I could relate 9n some levels easily, others I still need to work on :) too easily mastered, great line. It feels very sincere yet a little pomp which gives this prayer poem an edgy vibe sorry not sorry vibe, its just got me all up in knits and knits trying to decide the skill level and intention behind the intention and the subconscious expressio and intention Beneath all that! You words are very kind, and I really appreciate them, but due to either a missed email from the system, or just plain inability to organize my efforts at the time, I sure did miss offering a response.
