Lord, please help my spiritual attitude

to enter (going forward) the Heavenly mood

of whole, and unbroken, gratitude

for all the circumstances and their details

that arise in what remains of my life---

even the disappointments and sorrows,

the sadness and distress, the fear and terror and strife,

even the smallest aggravations that annoy---

let me count each of them a gift toward joy,

as each occurs, today and all apportioned tomorrows:

so that my gratitude to You prevails,

triumphant among my numberless and fallible fails.
