Death is the Christian's privilege of a final examination

and those last moments should not flail for one last cram,

with scattered fragments of knowledge, gathered in a slam.

Even those joined, or returned, at the eleventh hour,

need not tremble as with spiritual trepidation

(or, with the squirm of cravening fear or frenzy, cower).

And we, whom Christ has drawn to the Joy of His Salvation,

shall find in His Kingdom (to which God has given us translation),

the eternal gift and blessedness of our souls' ultimate exultation.
