these are the nightmares I've brought to life, the un witting host,

these are the things I fear most...

this is not who I am nor what I want to be 

this is the cell of my crimes imposing their sentences On me. 

this is the weakness that caused so much pain

this is the penance of the venture gained.

the loss overwhelms me still, no light in this dark chasm 

only a darker tunnel to get through my spasms.

no guide, no understanding, no temperament to contain me 

living inside my own darkness for safety 

my blanket of dark shroud me from the judgement of eyes that see.

will you ever be thick enough to save me? 

Pain is more than a river of shame and loss and sheer cliffs on either side 

there is a way,  but it lies hidden from me by this dark ephemeral void inside 

not even a finger gestured to the universe,

the fuck you challenge of youth rescinded.

I wait for the current to take me through this quiet desperate ride,

resigned myself to fumble along, dropping asunder my vain struggle, my hope, my pride

forced to leave my fate in other's hands, fingers crossed,heart disbelieving 

tossing all else aside, I focus on waiting for the end of the ride.
