barely stirred up by the smooth tide
I sit reflecting on all I have given and lost
to the endless thrum of necessity Needlessly.
i am the wreckage of a forgotten soul
who once thought love immortal
now I sit here in my brokenness
shards of pride laced with the blood of desperation
i watch the rivers of pain stain my hands
crystal tracks delineate courage and sink to the stars at my feet
will no one see me as equal?
Will no one understand?
worthless promises for my undying championing.
trust never a wager worth backing
redemption comes to those who profess to lacking
and those who wash thier feet in the tide willing to let bad tides turn.
dreams upon dreams yet to break the surface
oh what could have been, if only, the tide was on my side.

This is really so true about
This is really so true about when we have a relationship that ends badly. It's like we get so fixated on everything that went wrong, and suddenly, all the things we loved in the beginning are so far from our reach. Where do those good memories go? It reminds me of socks that get lost in the washing machine. This really made me think about that and I really never gave it much thought before. It's always like 10 years have to go by before any good memories even enter my mind at all after a bad one.
