 Searching the Silky Void

                             Across the Velveteen Sky 

How often I've stared.          

                             ...I've stared
at these same stars

                             at these same stars often and
and just never quite

                            caught glimpses of you

caught their light;

                           in their cosmic plethoras
photons and cones

                            somehow tilted
somehow misaligned,

                            to where you are
wavelengths askew.

                            Your brilliance travels
Your fire falls far

                            past my eyes,
from my eyes,

                            and I slowly
and I slowly

                            glow as I 
fade as I

                            search
search

                            for your
for your

                            soul...
