no matter how,
I think it, i feel it, give it,
I will always be in violation
of someone's expectations.
Am I so wrong to offer unconditnal love?
To hope one day I will be worthy of the same?
I look at love as everything it could possibly be,
Perhaps I have not looked enough at what it can't?
To you I am an infidel of love
But I am love's champion
a warrior of love fierce and brave
Faithful to all that is of heart and soul
The soul moves through barriers
The further it strays the closer it stays
The heart beats strangely
The more it pours out the more it fills
Though never exhausted never not wanting
What good is there in a heart or soul
capable of so much beyond any limits;
Held captive by another's expectations?
Will you ever loose all expectations of love?
Must I give boundaries to mine?
You expect much of me
Will you never truly feel my gift?
will I never get it right?
II used to think I could love
II used to think I could love unconditionally, thought it was ideal and pure, but I don't believe now that it is possible. It is a nirvana beyond reach, just barely visble as the clouds part and the peak is briefly revealed, only to slip away shrouded once more. I believe that sooner or later, the pure feelings of unconditional love are corrupted by the needs of the flesh. Moreover, to continue to love unconditionally after your lover has lost the feeling is a recipe for misery. I've tried it, and it hurts a little too long. It's a futile expectation.

Agreed. I think people put a limit of what they want love to be instead of what it should be and what it's capable of. Our own bitterness and arrogance manipulates all expectations of love.
