I am your guide rope.
You have to grab on.
When you let go,
you are on your own,
for I cannot help
if there is only one.
Useless on my own,
I cannot move for you.
You have to be the one.

Delusions of the mind
others find beautiful,
but to me they matter not.
Just more grey matter,
That does not matter.
Nor do you matter.

I am just a rope
that many stumble on.
I am constant
with many frayed strands.
The choice of which is yours.

Heaving and pulling
in the opposite direction,
they don't trust
where I've gone.
I fear no one.
I answer your prayers.

I may fray and tatter mildly
but in my titanium core,
I am strengthened
by those I restore,
who in turn restore me.

I have no pain of my own;
I forbade it long ago.
I need you to remind me
so I can remember
when it calls;
to recognize it
and pay homage to it all.

Somewhere at the end,
in a tunnel
with gleaming walls,
there is a place I go,
where it transforms
pain into solace.

Let me hug you,
my dear friend.
Let me hang
about your neck,
doting on you,
holding you tightly,
never letting go.
Sleep with me.
Lay with me.
Let your sorrow go.
