Despondent vs Nautical

The day was over, the time ticked by,

Moments wasted staring up at the sky.

Its this feeling you use to give me,

Like when your toes touches the sea.

The waves dances over and again.

Just like your lies have no end.

These ripples in the sea,

Your broken promises fazed me.

The ocean's storm by, unforgiving.

Waves crushing small fragile things...

You were the risk I was willing to take.

Time and time by, I told myself it wasn't fake.

Hours past and not a movement in sight.

They dissolved quietly in the distance.

I sat there, alone in the dark.

Waiting to fix that one bright spark.

The ocean's waves comes and go.

It never stops; it's never slow.

This wasn't suppose to be true.

Tell me, what happened to you?

Waves dances, relaxes, destroys.

The ocean itself is quite coy.

This reality was akin to my nightmares.

This time you were never there.

The ocean's alive, day and night.

The waves ripples with out a fight.

No warning, no call, I didn't know.

You were drunk, you never showed.

Your writing here is very powerful...and atmosphereic. As a musician, I can really feel the tempos and the fluent vibrations throughout this. It's got a deep and a rich quality to it...the words fall together so very well, Kate. You are both profound and artistic. I read you as true poetry. I see you as true poetry. Something you are...talented.

I like the rhythm of this poem a lot; it sounds very good. I was attracted right away by the title as well. I shall continue reading. Thanks for the comment by the way!
