Change

Folder:
Ooh

The skies are dark and dreary

As the rain falls down to earth

I look outside and shudder

And I move closer to the hearth.

Even though the weather is lousy

The sky is dark and dreary

I'm smiling to the world outside

Because inside I am cheery.

I no longer see the skies

But rather the birth of new life

The weather no longer depresses me

Or causes me to feel so much strife.

You've changed the way I feel

And the way in which I see

I guess it's all for the better-

All the changes you've made in me.

Against my window pane

The rain is falling gently

And through the leaves that are rustling

The wind is blowing softly.

I stop looking out the window

Because all I see is you

Dancing in the wind and rain

And you're soaked-all the way through.

I look back to the work I have

But I cannot get it done

For there you are in front of me

Laughing, and having fun.

I'm missing you this very moment

And every other time

I cannot see or talk to you

I guess that's all the time.

I want to be there with you

Where ever you may be

I want to hold onto you

So you're always there with me.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Ok, I was told in one of the comments on this poem that I needed to explain this poem....  So....  Well, to put it simply, does anyone out there not think this is about a girl?  Cuz if there is someone out there that ignorant, please let me know!

this is a very good poem, but it seems like it is missing something...maybe an explanation. still, i really like it; especially the imagery you use.
