Never is a Promise

Promise me,
promise you will stay.
One more moving night,
no more endless fights.
I long for you so,
please, I beg 'do not go!'
Pacing floors to stop this hurt,
I weep alone in your forgotten shirt;

Never is a promise you used to quote.

As the clock moves all tired hours,

dying pedals fall from still flowers.
You did not kiss me strong,
nor did you kiss me long.
Whispers left my scented skin,
should our eyes meet willfully again?
Your leaving was your dire deed,
now left me with my solemn's need.
An angel weeps this tragic night,
for you'll walk blindly from heaven's sight.
