I Once Knew

Blue skies and butterflies.

Violet hues and attitudes;

scurry above the open island.

Every little sound heard is alive,

as nothing ever seems to die.

An echo into life and death,

awakens by every strickened breath.

Kiss this rose and tell me when it knows,

your touch is honest.

Have its thorns make you bleed,

as you come to me in dire need.

I shake the salt on this wound;

nevertheless, be in doom.

A bitter taste for a sour person,

forgive me out of my own excursion.

A quick lesson taught,

here's a penny for your thought.
