My Father’s Wish

When I was eight my father came

And told me what to do

He said to always follow him

And I would always love you

Now my son there are many things

That really need to be done

And I know at times you will not want to

But I promise they are fun

You may ask, “What do I get

In return for this my job?”

“How do I know you do not lie?

My life you may come to rob.”

But that is why I tell you

Your reward is greater than great

For when the time is here my son

You will own my own estate

The worlds will bow and angels sing

And the glory will show in you

With everything I command of thee

And with everything you do.
