Little Missy Damage Control

V1:

On a break in old recline

I felt a bit of chill

The warm I had was old and weak

And worn beyond its will

I felt okay but I had rotten

Praying to the floors

Harvest compost nay forgotten

I waited by the door

So my surprise to spy your spy

That found me 'cross the room

I approached and you just listened

And soon we were in bloom

Sup and sweetly bare and brighten

Love and dove and hearth

We thought of no one but ourselves

And we would rule the Earth.

Chorus:

And when you'd say you care for me

I'd hold you like you liked

And when you'd say you needed me

I'd kiss you for a while

And when you'd say what happens now?

I'd tell you we're just fine

And when you'd turn and walk away

I'd miss you all the time.

V2:

We were stars of ice and granite

Came crashing to the ground below

We were specters of impossible

We were all we'd care to know

And then you'd say you love me so

And then I'd say I know I know

And then we'd kiss and try once more

And the world seems so appealing

Bright it was the future still

That seemed so close to touch

But then we argued like little children

For words that don't amount to much

And then I'd say I love you so

And then you'd say I know I know

And then we'd part for days and days

And the world seems so unyielding.

Chorus:

And when you'd say you care for me

I'd hold you like you liked

And when you'd say you needed me

I'd kiss you for a while

And when you'd say what happens now?

I'd tell you we're just fine

And when you'd turn and walk away

I'd follow you for miles

Bridge:

Oh I know you've loved me so

I'll give you this to keep

And then you'll turn and find another

And I'll be left to weep

But I will be for something stronger

With a mask of smoke and spit

That causes me to say things funny

And makes me feel like shit

So in your head we're all but dead

I'll never cling for life

When you're gone will I recall?

Or will it slip my mind

The thing of us it's on the news

The world we know speaks tomes

And I'll be left to feel abused

Inside a modeled home.

Chorus:

And when you'd say you cared for me

I'd hold you like you liked

And when you'd say you needed me

I'd ask you not to go

And when you'd say what happens now?

I'd tell you we can try

And when you'd turned and walk away

I'd only start to cry.
