The Painful Truth

Seeping into my reality
I feel the effects
Of excruciating pain
Destroying my soul.
It obliterates my senses
Keeping me numb inside
Everything but the pain

My heartbeat is incredible
Beating like an idiot
It jumps off a cliff
Unknowing where it lands
It hits the bottom hard
Bleeding to the truth.

Masking pain with an acceptable temporary world they call "Denial" under behavioral medicine, is a normal reaction while your mind is trying to come to terms with a loss. The moment you start feeling the pain and grieve means you moved from the tempory comfort zone which is good because you can start feeling the burden, embrace ( not fight ) it, and with time on your side, you'll wake up one day thinking less of the pain.
