Hoping for Happiness

Left alone to think, to ponder.

Ask questions to ourselves

and let our mind wonder.



Trying to figure things out,

while praying for guidance.

At times we want to shout!



Spent years trying to find a niche.

Just want to be happy in life,

do not care much to be rich.



Adulthood is starting this is so.

Have to take on responsibility,

yet it seems there is no place to go.



Happiness is all that is needed.

Within personal life and a job,

it is important to have feted.



So we will keep praying and hoping for happiness.

Be thankful of course for what we have

and hope that God will take care of the rest.

Author's Notes/Comments: 

Written in 2004. My boyfriend is going through a tough time and he is not much of a poet. I was trying to think what he might say so this is what I came up with.
