All I Want

I don't know what I'm going to do,

when I again see you.

I might be emotional and cry,

because I don't want to say goodbye.

You come and go so fast,

but in my memory you do last.

I wish that you would stay,

for more than just a day.

So we could spend more time,

together that's what I pine.

It seems you don't have time for me,

to look me inside to just to see.

You just pass me by,

just a hug and a hi.

It seems too short seeing you,

after all that we've been through.

You mean so much to me,

that is what I want you to see.

If you could see this is true,

maybe I could spend more time with you.

For I have changed and got much brighter,

it could make your heart much lighter.

So get to know just who I really am,

our friendship maybe could be more then.

This is all I want you to do,

only if you had a clue.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Written in 1997. I found this on the back of another poem and fixed some lines. There are sometimes in life we want more from our friend then what they give, times we feel they don't know us really.
