You hurt me
more than you could know.
Behind my smiles,
my pain will never show.
Each time you ignore me
the pain cuts like a knife.
But I don't ever show
all my pain and strife.
That last embrace,
the last we shared,
you turned away,
my hurt flared.
That first kiss
filled me with hope,
but that didn't last
I was such a dope.
Did you really like me?
Or were you just fooling around?
If you really didn't,
I'd melt into the ground.
I was so clueless,
I thought you really cared.
I really loved you
more than I dared.
All this I could never tell you.
You'll never know how I feel.
What you see is all an act.
None of what you see is real.
