You Make Me Feel

Folder:
December 2012

You make me feel uneasy like i was eleven,

make me feel like i'm locked out of heaven,

just hit seven, starting to get difficult,

you make me feel like i knew a miracle,

not that spiritual, keep it in the stable,

you make me feel like i met an angel,

cause your smile takes me to my eden,

buckles my back and makes my knees weaken,

you make me feel like i'm daily on trial,

all because i fell for your smile,

you make me feel denial is so close,

if only it ended up like it was supposed,

you make me feel like i'm banned from heaven,

without a real excuse, how could i not have questions?

you make me feel restless like an injured veteran,

and i get nervous just speaking to you like you were Letterman.

This is a very good poem,

This is a very good poem, although it is contrary to all I consider true. There was a very wise woman once who said, 'no one makes you feel anything, unless you allow them to'. Her name was Eleanor Rossevelt. Just the same, this poem is awesome and reflects a different perception that we sometimes have. When I got to the last line, I was wondering if you were talking about David Letterman and couldn't figure out why he would seem so intimidating....or maybe it is the postman you mean, in which case, the writer might be expecting a 'dear john' letter.

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "
