If you were here right beside me,

instead of where ever you are,

would you give it another go and try me?

or just run off in your car?

i'd tell you how i felt, every night and

make sure it's not a waste writin,

to be a perfect anything,

you must always save time for practicing,

even when i know i'll never see your face,

never sense your perfection, not a single trace,

i can still hope and be happy, short lived star,

that we even managed to shine that long,

if only she knew affection in public wasn't

something i did much, with her it was nothin,

i loved the girl you were, maybe still might,

one things for sure, i'll see neither tonight.
