Sonnet-24 (Mother)

Which word sound the sweetest?

Though a thousand times you utter?

To its comparison nothing is the best,

Though you whisper it or even louder!

Who is the one mingled with our soul?

Put the hand with love on our head?

In our childhood, mopped our drool?

Remained above us as a permanent shed?

You must know this answer very well,

Yet I like to repeat it again and again.

Here is something that I’m going to tell,

Uttering the word relieves me from pain.

My heart is perforated by a lot of spears,

‘Mother!’, My eyes are filled with tears.
