AUTUMN

It wafts gracefully in the wind

Bringing life to human kind

It gleams gloriously in the sun

Until its life is done

It's texture, opulescent, all aglow

Blood-red veins to show

Its splendour as a decoy

The razor rays its joy

Swaying gently as it falls

Obeying destiny as it calls

Then...lands quietly in relief....

............................a leaf

Thus, mortality will run it's course

And there is no reason for remorse

When the soul begins its run

To follow the sun.... follow the sun

To delight  angels, thereafter...

Hear their joy, hear their laughter?

You've stretched beyond this tiny portal

Goodbye, oh gentle living mortal
