Like a candle in the wind

Our love was but a flame

Burning brightly to begin

But ending choked in shame

If only I had known back then

When your starry eyes grew dim

Perhaps I could move on again

Since our life is at an end

I tried, I fought, but you don't care

You said I'm not enough

Now I don't recall what love's about

Since the night your lights went out

And now I wait, the world is dark

My life-light growing dim

How long until I know for sure

If I'll ever love again?
