Rising Sun

Chorus

I feel the sun rising up above,

And I feel your soul,

But that’s not enough.

I can’t believe that this didn’t last,

I’d change this if I could go back to the past.

Why did you leave,

When I told you that,

You were all I needed,

And I’d be fine with that.

But now you went to break my heart,

My life feels like it’s falling apart.

So now I’ll sit writing a song bout you,

Cause it’s all I have left,

And it’s all I know how to do.

Verse

She sits on her bed,

And cries herself to sleep,

Cause she can’t have anything,

But broken dreams.

And the world around her,

Is trying to scream,

Don’t live your life,

As if it’s a dream.

So now she’s laying down again,

And she can’t get up,

Cause she feels this pressure,

And it won’t let up,

And she cries inside,

Cause she’s dying inside,

And the world won’t accept,

Her simple mind.

Now what would you do,

If you were in her shoes?

Would you sit and take it,

Or stand up for what’s true?

It’s not an easy decision,

To do what’s right,

But sometimes you don’t have a choice,

Except to fight.

I know it’s been this way before,

And it hurts time to time,

But you can’t give up,

You gotta stay in line.

So she cries again,

Cause her mom just died,

And she can’t let go,

Of what’s killing her inside,

But no one gives her comfort,

Cause she’s an outcast now,

She never fit in,

She’s always been outside the crowd.

I can’t believe this,

Happens in life,

But stay strong,

Don’t give up,

And try to survive.

Now it’s finally over,

She can see the light.

Her mom is standing there,

Saying it’s all right.

So she takes a step,

And looks into her face,

It’s so beautiful,

All her fears erased.
