Many Waters

many waters fall, many rivers flow

mountains a'plenty reach to the valley's below

time is but a fleeting moment in the plan of life

how sad to waste it all, with trouble and strife

many words unspoken, many smiles unsmiled

laughter's healing balm is all too oft defiled

joy, the language that soothes a troubled soul

is medicine to be taken to make a body whole

many a love lost, many a heart broken

lust's too many, mistaken for loves token

passion, the need of a heart in its searching

its pain is gained in the sordid besmirching

many dreams die, many hopes gone unhoped

imaginations, drugged by a life that's doped

needs, the expressions of desire, gone unfed

until at last tis all too late and we are dead

Beautiful, flowing, thoughtful.

David Richardson's picture

Susie:
This poem is so beautifully written with symbolism so pictureque and vibrant. The true beauty in life is truly life itself. We should cherish every second of beautiful life. As I stated in one of my poems:

CHERISH EVERY MOMENT

Cherish every moment

Like it is your last

Cherish the beauty of the seasons
The trees
The feel of the grass

The songs of the birds
The heat of the Sun
For every moment passed
Is a new life begun

A cool gentle breeze
The rustle of the trees
The beauty of nature
Can bring you to your knees

So enjoy every moment
Forget about the past
Remember to thank GOD Almighty
For beauty that will forever last
