About a Girl- Part 3.

Teachers were worried
This girl that they knew
Was different
despondent
and now insecure

Her letters to Gran
Were written with tears
And her Gran said
Come Home!
I'm here!
But
Who would love her
She did not trust
Anyone
Anything
Anymore

Her Daddy got wind
Of how she was not
He said
Come Home!
But these are the rules
Go back
To being a child...
How could she though
When she was not

A boy at school
Wrote her a poem:

"You are like the sun
In my eyes
Seeing you makes
My day bright"

She went out on a date
Met his folks
They asked about
Her life, her home
She told the truth
In time he said
He wasn't allowed
To see her...
A bad influence

She didn't care
After all
He was a boy
but 17
Had to borrow the car
Be home on time
She'd be ok
Where she was

Because
Who else would love her
She did not trust
Anyone
Anything
Anymore

And so she stayed
And was reminded
Of how lucky she was
For who else
Would love her
Look after her?
She was thankful
For this love
