Fantasty

I remember that night,

You told me this was just like a fantasy.

Thats when i knew it was gonna break,

Your dreams fall apart,

And me being the support I was never meant to be.

Drawn from different worlds,

We thought love could bridge that gap.

The fairy tale princess and her risen from the ashes knight.

I was supposed to be your knight in shining armor,

Little did you know,

My armor didnt shine, at least not in your light.

Im sorry I was never your dream come true,

Seems more likely that I was the promise that didnt come though

So there comes a time when we all pay whats due,

And so many times did i pay,

I guess this ones on you.

Maybe ive spared you, maybe next time its gonna be better.

You pinned your dreams on a realist.

You pinned a grey hope on me,

A man who lives in a black and white world.

Im sorry I was never your hero,

Im sorry I was never the dream come true,

Only a nightmare you cant wake from.

When all is said and done,

I mean its been fun, dont get me wrong,

I guess I wasnt able to be strong,

I should have told you from the start,

Maybe the price didnt have to be your heart.

But here it is,

If loves an art,

Then I never grabbed the paintbrush.

An empty canvas is all you've got.

And I know its too late,

Im sure you figured this out that day,

But lifes not a dream,

This isnt a fantasy world.

Im sorry i wasnt your dream come true.

But maybe you wont kiss anymore frogs.

I liked the beginning and middle of this poem, but it seemed to come unraveled in the end. Over all, pretty fair piece.
