Kenmore was more Appalachian

.... people brought to Akron for rubber

factory work.
Barberton was more Eastern
European.  One sooner than the
other had citizens taking a
public stance against illegal US
wars.

Another meaning occurred:
that Barbie and Ken (bland
dolls marketed by profiteers)
were each transcending
form consciousness
and finding more soul-connected
partners.
