SHAPESHIFTING SHADOWS

The breeze in the trees
shapeshifts the shadows
of the shade and its leaves
*
SILENT SHADOW
Silently silken
shadows slide
though their
parent leaves
are noisily
rustling in the wind
*
QUIET SHADOW
The child played hide and seek
and did not utter a peep
but her irrepressible shadow
out from behind the woods did leap
SHADOWMERGE
Before they ever
touched each other
their shadows
had merged.
