THE CASTE SYSTEM

It was Muslim and British
invasions of India that
attempted to corrupt Hindu
caste into a color code.
The caste system has never
meant any status granted by
birth, only by action.
Those who meditate on Brahman
(God) are brahmins. They also
study scripture and eat Godly
food, not food obtained by
slaughter. Kshatriyas make
up the caste of those working
as soldiers, police,
administraters. Vaisyas are
the merchant class.
Harijan, children of God,
sometimes in ignorance
called untouchables,
are of the butcher occupation.

BAMBOO HEALER

Perhaps Brer Rabbit
prefers briar patches
for protection
but many other bambinos
including Bambi's
select bamboo...
growing thicker than a thicket
.. prolifically victorious over many
human eradicators
... nature's reforesters
growing faster than any other
tree or grass...
weavers of privacy screens
and mufflers of noise...
softeners of wind
purifiers of earth and air

GREED

At what point
does the need
for money
turn into greed

SUNSPARKED SEED

Gradually slowly
the sunsparked seed
finds himeself two-leaved
then branched  then treed

SKY'S NOT LIMIT

The sky's not the limit.
Our God connected power
is infinite.

SIGNALS HER TURNS

Nature signals
her turns
With each planted tree
the world less burns.

GOD'S WORDWANDS

God's unwhispered will
into being whirled the world
Into woodwinds God's wordwands
the bamboo beetlebored

LOVING PRAISE

Loving praise is
wind under a child's
wings
though a bird doesn't need

God give endless healing miracles to that brave
holy generous and enduring woman
who was born with epilepsy,
a dysfunctional
arm and a crippled leg...
... who has never had a vehicle
and though attractive, disciplined,
devout and intelligent
never a mate..
who must walk down steps backwards
if there are not rails on both sides...
who can't slice a pear unless there
is a board with a nail on it near.
She empathizes with all who suffer
from babies with cleft palates and
the hard life of a waitrees to
abandoned shelter animals and
the poor of the world.

The milkweed
.. a perfect sphere

1000 lives as
husband
son and brother
before God trusts
men
with 1 lifetime
as a mother
