WISHBONE

The turkey wishes
he could wish on
his own wishbone.
He would wish that
by humans he'd
be left alone.
 
DAY OF AVICIDE

In the United States
more than any other day,
Thanksgiving has been
a day for consumption
of turkeys, a day celebrating
the avicide of tens of millions
of birds.
For what can turkeys give
thanks? Only that death by murder
will end their lives of human-
imposed factory farm slavery.

GRAVY IN THE GRAVE

Unreported murder...
the evidence hidden....

next the heads are pulled off
.. followed by machines
vacuuming out the lungs
.. finally the packaging,
the stapling and
posting the weight stickers
(and then the blood
and urine go into the streams..
along with the female hormones
antibiotics and in some cases
prions they contain..
while the lungs, guts,
heads, and feet go into
pet food and in some cases
become Mad Cow generating
illegal food for cows, sheep
pigs turkeys chickens fishes)

HE PRAYED FOR THE NAMELESS BIRD SITTING AT HIS TABLE

He sat at a table which had a decapitated gutted
defeathered cadaver of an innocent turkey, and wondered what his or
her name was..from whence he came
whom and what he loved? God bless the soul of the bird.. not only now
but going back in time to his concentration camp life and
his final awful embodied moments..

slaughters 'butterball' turkeys, bred so topheavy
they cannot stand. Butterball headquartered in Downers' Grove
Illinois. A downer is an animal so sick she cannot stand
as she arrives at the slaughterhouse.
