* Poems To Supply Like A River

A SONNET TO THE SUNUP

A sonnet to the sunup

caught in every bluebell cup

.. until with light

so much it fills

that out of everywhere

sun does spill

EVERFLOWING SUPPLY RIVER

Snakelike threads

the river's trail

from waterfall's head

to the delta tail

MOUNTAIN LAKE PITCHER

As lake's

pitcher spout

mercy's waters

does spill

God's grace

mountain lake

does ever

refill

(sparked by the

art of Wm Scott

Jennings)

IN MY FATHER'S HOUSE

woodpeckers cavecarving

in the trees

beavers.. making a home

in the breeze

.. wasps use mud

for their domicile

robins collecting twigs

for their nests on the isle

but GOD has already

made a jade moss palace

for the little ladybug

named Alice

and that which some

call pondscum slime

is to tadpoles

.. many chambers of lime

In my Father's house

are many mansions

EVEREST CLOUDS

Over the tall green trees

are tips of white clouds..

one can pretend they

are the Himalayas..

one can pretend that

immediately beyond

them lies the ocean.

TALLY'S STYLUS

Scholars dispute how

many angels are on

the head of a pin

but zillions of them

wait for

Tally

on the tip of her

pen..

A VINE NAMED JOSEPH

Invest in

a grape vine named Joseph

with fruit is explosive

olive groves

are treasure troves

apple orchards

give more $ than Borgias

nut trees,

nut infinity

pumpkin patches

numberless batches

avocado trees

know alchemy

turning sunlight

into green

and the green into

gold

DIVINE MOTHER'S NURSING

Divine Mother

is nursing us

from the juice

of the mango tree

from fruitmilk

in the coconut palm

from the

melting icicle

and the mercy

of the falling rain

PEACH PEACE

The bloody stench of slaughterhouse air

or the fragrance of a plum or pear

The scarcity of meat from filthy feedlots' muddy ground

or the cornucopia of a centenarian grove's

half million pounds

The sight of a hamburger after 3 days of rot

or of a bowl full of pecans by God begot

The screams of animals butchered without surcease

or the silence of peaches growing in peace

The sweet flow of polysaccharides from apples or

The pain of full hospitals from heart disease

A pile of discarded bones

... or mango peels girt by bees

GREEN AND GOLD NECKLACES

When one sees

a pumpkin vine

.. as its jade necklace

with hundreds of heavy gold jewels

.. singleseedsired

does everything entwine

or the gold necklace

river with its chain

of emeralds.. the

green valleys

through which it flows

one knows that

supply in abundance

is the universe design

SPARROWS STOPPED SQUABBLING

Someone had thrown popcorn near the

restaurant.. for the many little sparrows

living in the bushes..

two were squabbling over a kernel..

surrounded by many feet of popcorn..

two humans saw and laughed..

..there was infinite supply

they should not fight over

perceived scarcity

FORGETTING

The daughter bought herself

thousands of dollars of toys

while her father who had

worked so hard for her

.. was living on dumpster

food sprinkled with

cigarette ashes

SNOWDROPS TO RIVERS

The river kept giving

.. all she had.. in the

delta.. to the sea..

Up above her headwaters

as mountain peak snowflakes

became snow drops..

and snowdrops became

trickles of trust..

overtures of hope to

eternal spring

.. form frozen

into Spirit flowing..

angels kept renewing

the many rivulet mothers

of the river...

in eternal return of

generosity.

(to Gene Radney who with

her husband Milton until

his death and since has

given her money to make

children happy and healthy)

INFINITE DIMES

You're out of time

.. no more dimes

said the rapacious phone company

.. but God sent angels

to put free phones everywhere

NUTCRUMBS ON THE ALTAR

Today put the compost pile by the groundhog's opening in case

       he was feeling lazy

It is March and there are a lot of nutcrumbs on Mother Earth's

altar.. the squirrels have been impatient

PEAS PEACHES AND PEARS PEPPERS AND PAPAYAS

Mother Earth grows

petunias,

and pita pockets

and pipinghot potpies

for puppies prepared..

and

peachtrees and pink pears

peas and peppers

and orange pips not blue

under skies sandpiper'd.

and Pleiades stars peeping,

through purple eve round

favorite papal pulpits:

the poplars and papaya trees..

(to Diane and Don P )

TGW

One struck the diamond

with a hammer..

hoping to divide it

and sell its pieces

The other struck it

with a radio wave

He kept it whole

.. that the sound vibration

be multiplied for millions

(to TGW: old soul beyond

concern for money)

LILAC FLOW

Sunshine, rainshowers,

windfans and earthblanket

loved the seed of lilac.

In growing to her purple fragrance

she has not known loss or lack.

NOT FOR PENNIES

Not for pennies

do peonies and pansies grow

but in the light of sunlove

to live and to glow

*

GATHERED RAIN

The river gives her all to the sea...

yet ever made whole her flowing train

by mountainmelt snowflakes or

         gathered rain.

The candle gives away her flame entire... yet whole remains

her fire.
