 CRUELTY TO BEES


1. Queen bee's wings often clipped to keep her from moving hive
2. She is often artifically inseminated
3. Some beekeepers kill the whole hive as winter begins rather than
   allow them to eat their own honey, the fruit of their labor, through
   winter. The bee enslavers simply buy a new hive.
4. Bees are often crushed as racks are slid in and out
5. Apicides (bee killing chemicals) are sold virtually everywhere
6. Other insectides and herbicides are poisoning bees
7. Habitat destruction is removing fields of flowers critical to bees

 8. Bees are killed by mowers, machine harvesters
9.They are stepped on by golfers, croquet players, hikers.

BEEKEEPERS ARE OFTEN BEEKILLERS

Abraham Lincoln said to slaveholders...
"They toil. You eat" It
can be said of beekeepers..
and honeyeaters....
"They slave... and humans steal
and eat the fruit of their labor."

 

 

 

The bee named Hector...
needs no visible lector ...
to read him the sector
where blooms of great nectar....
pour forth fragrant vectors

Now the Red Sea of clover
seems Bee-cloven
But back to Queen Lover
flies bee Beethoven
while unharmed
by him,
the Red Sea of clover
is sure to recover.

The bee's
favorite couplet:
a sunup brimming
buttercuplet.

 As if planes flying
in to an airport
bees come and go
from their hive
within the lion's carcass.
Death turned into sweetness

Flowers don't chase bees.
It is to the safe meditator
at the treebase and
not to the hunter
that the shy deer comes.
Her serene quiet heart magnet..
like a crystal ball invokes the form she desires.

Jason Bumblebee
searches for the golden fleece
in the pollen of the goldenrod
There he finds great peace

To buzz among the blooms
in all directions is the bees' way
To blow where she pleases
is the south wind's way of breezes
To flow to the left and right
in arcs but always toward the sea
is the brook way
To follow the dictates
of his heart is the bill way

 

*

 

Among the blooms James Bond bee zigzags

 

but faithful to his queen, when called home

 

his way is straight.

 

*

 

He alights and sups
on dew in the buttercup
Then he buzzes
lifts off and up

Bees never sting
the flowers on whom
in the wind they swing
