ALTAR HALTER

She did falter

at the altar

seeing the ring

as a halter



nearly swept

away by peer

pressure tide

but she was

able away to slide











PORK BELLIES



The financier focused so

much on pork bellies

he began to look

like a pig's belly.



The meat industry's

financial scholars

.. create misery

and squalor



We on earth

see only the slaughter..

but the pig released

is now immersed in laughter.



The way out is the

way back.







STATUE OF LIBERTY RETURNS





The Statue of Liberty had temporarily

left New York.. picked up

her granite skirts

to vacation in the Great Lakes..

where the people of Michigan and

Ohio, Minnesota and Wisconsin,

Pennsylvania and Indiana and

Ontario..

living statues of liberty

..are speaking for the tired and

the poor of Iraq and Afghanistan

Tibet and every place.

A new highway has been

made between her throat

and her heart.. and now

she speaks peace..

, revived by

hundreds of thousands walking

in her Manhattan

for peace..

inspired by the hundreds

who have been arrested

witnessing for peace

she is preparing to return.

As a delta river's sands

took samples of fingerprints and DNA.

Water woven on cloud looms

and soon thunderhead clouds loom





IVY SMOKE



The newspaper editor

was scything his yard

.. and put the poison ivy leaves

and root

into a fire.. whose flames

turned the green leaves

into grey smoke which curled

into his lungs.. the avenging

spirit of all the trees, animals

and flightless baby birds killed by his

deforesting paper.



He nearly died.. the root

was many times more concentrated

than the leaves.



TIME WHORE



Those who work for others

become time whores..

selling their time in a form

of slavery to the priorities

of others, not the work

of their own hearts



MAMMOTH RUSSIAN



A 12 ft high

Russian mammoth black and gold

sunflower

.. does sway

.. it is not the breeze

but the black and gold

finch

which in him or her does play

He released

The moth trapped
