TIBETAN INCENSE STICK

Plumes of snow were blowing

off the high peaks of Tibet.....

incense sticks on the mountain

altars to the Buddha.

Eddies swirled in the

mountain streams..

eternal prayer wheels

actualizing dreams.

(to all Dalai Lamas)

ALTAR OF SACRIFICE

Buddha placed himself
on altar of sacrifice...
the ground by her claws

(Buddha in a life previous to his life as the Buddha
came upon a starving tigress with her 2 cubs..
and laid down in front of her .. to provide her food.
"Greater love hath no one than to lay
down his life for his friend.")

JACK FROST'S SILENT REQUIEM

..the crickets' trill
from their bodies.. cheerful spill
but Jack Frost's scythe....
with his silent requiem
their bodies stills

(the more trees and vines, berry bushes and plants we grow, the less
cruel Jack Frost will be... greenery is a Mother Earth weather stabilizer)

COCKATIEL COCHINEAL

Caged the sunyellowwinged cockatiel
Crushed for redcoat dye the cochineal

SAPPHO WEARS SAFFRON

The white orange blossom

has become the orange orb fruit

and reborn, like California poppies,

Sappho wears monks' saffron

ANGKOR WAT

The Buddha cherished more Angkor Wat's
green vines
than the nonliving temple stones
