Beneath another squirrel
successfully walking the tightrope
of the phone wire,
another, a terrified
squirrel in the road,
went back and forth twice
trying to escape
the oncoming car.
God's grace saved
him from his own
indecisiveness
and speeding unconcerned
human beings.
Virtually all streets
have invisible children
and squirrel crossing signs.
