Time For Grassley To Retire
Why are these baby chick
females and males
classified by the USPS
as commercial mail?
They sit outside baking
in the heat with thirst
treated as if they were
rotting liverwurst.
In the winter many
freeze to death,
by a callous world
denied their breath.
They are easily crushed
on the loading docks
vulnerable in a flimsy
cardboard box.
