The Butterfly's Wings

Butterfly, flying high,

As I watch you flutter by,

The time has worn, it is nigh,

The colour of your wings is the colour of the sky,

I stare in awe as it fades to black.

The light has come, the day is here,

Sworn to shed not but a tear,

Don’t worry, there is nothing to fear,

Light is shattered like a broken mirror,

Falling through the endless blue.

Cruelty comes, the mask is shorn,

The time has come for us to mourn,

Secrets revealed, your wings are torn,

In the early summer morn,

Shed not a tear as death‘s mist comes.

Another one that I truly loved. Very good job with alliteration and vocabulary once more. Obviously, you have your poetic prose down perfectly. Keep up the good work, darling.
