A Celtic Frame of Mind

A CELTIC FRAME OF MIND

I’ve often seen fairy wee people

In my Celtic frame of mind.

Dryads who English say Egads

To leprechaun gold they can’t find.

Teenage sylphs with gossamer wings

And curmudgeon gnomes of old

My second sight gives me a fright

From things in landscapes I behold.

From my ecstatic sight of aeromancy

I often see ghost ships sail in the sky

Upon the waters of sea foam fancy

I see water undines trying to fly.

I see myself as sunlight in dewdrops

And as a hawk circling far above

I walk on the moon in the astral plane;

Fly into eternity with the morning dove.

You might say I have a rogue imagination

Englishmen might describe as “feigh”

Either way it doesn’t bother me one iota

What the unimaginative people have to say.
