Have you ever sat there listening to a song and just gotten what was meant by its words?
Felt every word like a sparkle stuck to your soul
No matter how many times you wash your hands that damn thing is there when they dry
Every been hit by the realisation that some feelings are shared,
Simple and complex and human
Universal
That we are all the same inside
Deep down where it counts
That the little things we use to pull ourselves apart are nothing more than words
Like the lyric of this song
“Can everything ever feel this real forever?”*
“Can anything ever be this good again?”*
How’d they know I felt like this?
Wondered this…
Considered just ending before it begins to avoid this
Ever listened to a song and just got it
And then realised that those impacting words you felt to the pits of your being are the very thing put in place to keep them from being a reality?

I have the block, been sitting here all day unable to write a single word of that god damn novel! this is the best I can pull up, fuck I think I need to ride the bus :(

indeed. the song Ghost of Karelia by Mastodon literally kept me from ending it. hauntingly beautiful, viscerally dark, imploding and expanding at the same time...exactly how I felt at the time. well, maybe not beautiful, but you get the point. either way, great job of describing this phenomenon and the hold it has over so many of us.

yea its funny how the fear of something being good holds me back, I get so in my head and I hate it, working on getting out and NIKEING the shit out of life again but old habits die hard :)
