When Lindsey said to me after class tonight:
“You two are clearly in-love with each other…why aren’t you guys dating?”
I could not fathom where she got that idea
It took a few seconds for it to sink in,
But then it was clear as day
The way you watched me as I approached the class
Scanning my shirt until you figured out where you had seen it before
The sad in your eyes as you remembered
“I got you a gift, do you like it?”
Pikachu shirt, black lace underwear, a tooth brush and a key
How you held my legs when you helped me with my head-stands
The way you look at me when you think I am not looking
It was written all over you like Nazi propaganda
All over me like clay on a potters hands
It was in our three hugs good-bye
The way you held me as close as you could
Your hands flat on the small of my back
How both of us buried our heads into the crook of the other’s neck
If one was looking then it was everywhere
The whole class probably thought something was up
No wonder she wondered why we weren't dating
And for a split second so did I
But then it came to me
I remembered
Dating you adds up to nothing more than a pile of broken promises and mislaid lies
Looked over by nights of amazing sex and mind blowing orgasms
And mornings were I wake
Wanting nothing more than to find an excuse to talk to Matt
Wondering why I'm not dating him
