As Will the Winter

Let me in, and let my love surround you.

Its vintage is of the noblest essence,

And its power to heal will astound you.

Lay down all arms, give me acquiescence,

Remind yourself your past is behind.

Together we could make new memories,

Tempting you far less to press rewind,

My love casting those old woes to the breeze.

Certain among us deny what they feel -

(No one could rightly accuse me of that) -

I see worlds inside you you’ve yet to reveal,

Your past and future engaged in combat.

Show yourself mercy. Let’s roll in the grass.

With me your doubts and fears will come to pass,

As will the winter.
