I’m Not Alone

Benefits of solitude have been reaped

As my hand was held beneath the table,
Conversation and chuckles gently steeped
In that void which renders me unable.
Such moments are still worth their memory
Since they shine a shaft of light upon you,
You who soften the scratch of emery
And speak words of unaffected value.
Our many fine collaborations show
The inestimable worth of union.
We each radiate a rarified glow
As we partake in our frequent communion.
I had to enter where few words are known
To understand how much I’m not alone.
