A Memory of the Rain

Folder:
Me

As I sit inside
Looking out
I see the rain
Hitting the ground
Forming puddles
As the cars slush
Through them
I hear the kids
Screaming as if they are
Melting
I see some play in the puddle
I see their mothers
Rush outside to grab
Their children
I laugh as I
Recall when I too
Used to play in the rain
The smell of the wet
Grass
The way the water felt
As it hit my skin
I would open my mouth
To catch the rain drops
I would spin in circles
And dance and sing
My mom would yell
For me to come inside
I would ignore her till
Her screams became to loud
To not ignore
Then she would make sure
I took a hot bath
So I don't catch
The flu
Then after I would
Sit by my window
And watch the rain
Again till I fell
Asleep

Author's Notes/Comments:

Me sitting by my window and looking out at the children playing in the rain; and I remember when I used to do the same thing.
