I've reached a milestone, despite my reservations
I've passed the moment, though I never thought I'd make it
On this day, thirty years ago
Rhythm was brought into a world so cold
And with the song came so many unknowns
Like what to do, how to live, and where this life may go

Thirty years to the very day
It seems the so much just hasn't changed
The world is still a bitter cold
And there's so many more of the unknowns

What, I wonder, does tomorrow hold
And is today, the last one I will know
And what, if any, stories can be told

I don't have time left to waste
Pondering the past and my mistakes
I don't know which path I will take
But forward, I think, is the only way

So, I say goodbye to thirty years gone by
And realize, that I am still alive
It's about time I took my chance to fly
To leave the memories behind

As I start to think about my age
I see it's just a turning of the page
What will the story be today
And will it all turn out the same
Or can I make the choice to change
Three decades gone, how many more await
