You Don't Want to Know

You don’t want to know who I am
You don’t want to know me
I’m broken

You don’t want to know where I came from
You don’t want to know where I’ve been
You don’t want to know where I’ll be tomorrow
No, you don’t want to know the things I’ve known

You don’t want to know me
I’m not who you think I am
You don’t want to show me
Just who you are

No, you don’t want to know me
I’m broken

I won’t tell you stories
It’s just not in me
And I will tell no lies

You don’t want to know who I am
No, you don’t want to know
I’m broken

Don’t tell me about you
I don’t want to know
All that you’ve been through
All that you’ve known

You don’t want to know me
So don’t waste your time
The pieces can’t be woven
The walls will never open
I’m broken

You don’t want to know who I am
Trust me, you don’t want to know me
I will never let you in
I have secrets that you’ll never see
So, believe me when I say
That you don’t want to know

It would be a nice world if

It would be a nice world if everyone wanted to know everyone else, and truly care --- you know, take responsibility for their "brother/sister human being". But we have all witnessed too many times how the world is not that way. We pass beggars on the street to rush to the bus or taxi so we can make more money to pay our bills, or feed our kids, or whatever. Then we claim we were not responsible for passing the beggar by because we just "had" to!!! We were busy!!! We say it as if because we were busy, it wasn't our responsibility to behave in a humane manner. The mentally ill we classify as mentally ill....as if they aren't human because they're labeled as mentally ill, when if we honestly believe they're so whacked...aren't we supposed to be more human...not less?

I like this. It brings out the irony of someone who sees their own reflection in others...and yet...they are repulsed. They cannot bring themselves to touch it ....know it and love it.

All in due time...it happens all in due time.

Peace.

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "

Mental illness

That is, ironically, the perfect companion to this particular piece.
The one from whom the inspiration was derived, could very clearly fall into that category.
What is it that they say "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results"
That clearly defines the one I never want to know again. With this, I was attempting to be gentle, instead of harsh, but it didn't work out well, as you can see. There are just some people in this world that I wish I'd never known...you know?
